Kaal Sarp check, done honestly

Kaal Sarp is a pattern some jyotishis look for in a chart, not a verdict on a life. Enter your birth details to see whether all seven grahas lie on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis, with the rule written out and nothing to buy.

What the texts say, and the modern name

Kaal Sarp is a modern name, not a yoga from the classical texts (Parashara, Jataka Parijata and Phaladeepika do not list it). Roughly one chart in fourteen has all seven grahas within the half-circle between Rahu and Ketu — it is a pattern, not a verdict.

Rahu and Ketu are not planets but the two points where the Moon’s path crosses the Sun’s, always exactly opposite each other. They split the zodiac into two half-circles, and the pattern people call Kaal Sarp is simply all seven grahas, from Surya to Shani, falling inside one of them. What the classical texts do weigh is Rahu itself: its house, its lord, and the Rahu and Ketu dashas when they come.

Our exact rule

We calculate the seven grahas from Surya to Shani on the Lahiri sidereal zodiac. Rahu and Ketu are the axis and are not counted among the seven.

Full: all seven lie in the half-circle from Rahu to Ketu, or all seven in the half-circle from Ketu back to Rahu.

Partial: the other grahas all lie on one side, but one or more sit within 1° of Rahu or Ketu, on the axis itself.

Not Kaal Sarp: grahas on both sides. Six on one side and one across is only close, and the result says so.

The type (Anant, Kulik, Vasuki and so on) follows the house Rahu is in, counted from the lagna, or from the Moon when the birth time is unknown.

What it does not mean, and what helps

It does not mean misfortune, delay in marriage, loss of money or a shortened life. Thousands of accomplished people have it. No puja, no stone and no "nivaran" is needed, and anyone selling one is selling fear.

Whatever the result, these habits are free and the texts agree with them:

  • Start big steps with a written plan and a trusted second opinion — Rahu’s pull is towards the shortcut.
  • Keep one steady practice (a walk, a craft, a fixed hour of work): the axis rewards routine.
  • In a Rahu or Ketu dasha, decide slowly on money and property; the chart itself names those years.

The possible results

Present
Yes — the placement people call Kaal Sarp is present; it is not a verdict.
Partial
Partly — the grahas lie on one side except those that sit on the axis itself.
Close, not counted
No — close, but the rule needs all seven grahas on one side.
Not present
No — there is no Kaal Sarp placement in your chart.

Questions people ask

Is Kaal Sarp in the classical texts?

No. Kaal Sarp is a modern name; Parashara, Jataka Parijata and Phaladeepika do not list it. The texts read Rahu and Ketu like any other placement, by house, sign and dasha.

Does Kaal Sarp bring misfortune or delay marriage?

No. It does not mean misfortune, delay in marriage, loss of money or a shortened life. Thousands of accomplished people have it.

Do I need a puja or a stone for it?

No. No puja, no stone and no “nivaran” is needed, and JYOTISH.info sells none. The one habit the chart suggests is to begin big things with a plan and let them mature.

How does the calculator decide?

It places the seven grahas from Surya to Shani on the Lahiri sidereal zodiac and checks whether they all lie in one half-circle of the Rahu–Ketu axis. If you do not know your birth time, the houses are counted from the Moon and the result says so. Your birth details are used for this calculation only and are not stored.
