Ask JYOTISH — your questions, answered from your own chart

An AI reading desk that writes from your calculated kundali and the classical rules — with the basis under every answer.

Ask in your words

English, हिंदी or Hinglish — about work, marriage, money, health, studies or travel.

We calculate first

Your running dasha, today’s transits and the house that rules your question.

Answer, then basis

A short answer, the timing and what helps — and, separately, the positions and rules behind it.

Prashna — when there’s one question on your mind

A chart is cast for the moment and place you ask, and judged by the Tajika rules of Neelakantha’s Prashna Tantra: does the lord of the lagna meet the lord of your matter? It works even if you don’t know your birth time.

Small tools, honest answers

Each one shows its rule and its basis. Nothing here is a verdict, and nothing is for sale to "fix" a chart.

Written reports — from your kundali, in a minute

Each report is written from the chart above by the same checked writer that answers in Ask JYOTISH, and opens as a private page you can save as a PDF and share — usually within a minute of paying by UPI or card. Want a jyotishi to read and sign it first? Add the review and it reaches you within 48 hours.

Sixty seconds, then your questions

01
Cast

Your birth date, time and place set the sphere to that exact sky. The engine computes sidereal positions with the Lahiri ayanamsa — the standard used by most Indian software — and lays them on the North Indian chart.

02
Read

A rule-based reading covers your lagna, Moon, nakshatra, the twelve bhavas, yogas, your running Vimshottari period and your numbers. It is specific to your chart, written in plain language, free, and yours as a PDF.

03
Ask

Pick a question, or type your own. You get a brief answer from your own chart, with a timing window. For the full answer — the reasons, the months, what helps — you can get a written report on this site, ready in about a minute.

Accuracy: positions are checked against the Swiss Ephemeris — usually within a few arc-seconds, at worst about 20 (the table is on How we calculate). Birth time matters most — a four-minute error can change the lagna; use the hospital record where you can.

Our promise: guidance without fear

Jyotish should leave you clearer, never frightened. These rules apply to every reading on this site and every report we write.

१

No fear, ever

We never predict death, disaster or ruin, and we never call a chart “bad”. Doshas are explained calmly, with the classical exceptions.

२

Nothing to buy to “fix” your chart

We don’t sell gemstones, pujas, yantras or remedies. If a classical practice is mentioned, it is free and optional.

३

Every reading shows its basis

Each answer names the graha, house, nakshatra or dasha behind it — in a separate paragraph — so you can check it with any panchang or astrologer.

४

Honest about limits

Jyotish describes tendencies and timing, not certainties. Health, legal and money decisions belong with qualified professionals.

५

No pressure selling

No countdown timers, no “only 2 slots left”, no hidden renewals. Prices include GST, and any subscription cancels in one tap.

६

Respect for everyone

The same rules for every visitor, whatever their caste, religion, gender or income — and no judgement about who you love or how you live.

७

Your data stays yours

We never sell your details. Ask, and we delete them within 7 working days (DPDP Act, 2023); only tax invoices stay, as the law requires.

८

AI that shows its working

Ask JYOTISH is an AI writer, not a person. It works only from your calculated chart and our classical rule book; every answer is checked against your chart before you see it, with the basis printed below.

What Ask JYOTISH will never do

  • Predict death, accidents, serious illness or divorce
  • Tell the sex of an unborn child
  • Give medical, legal or investment instructions
  • Sell gemstones, pujas or “remedies”
  • Help control or harm another person

Astronomy you can check, tradition you can trace

Every chart has two layers. We keep them apart, so you always know which is which.

1 · The sky — exact science

Planet positions come from a modern ephemeris, checked against the Swiss Ephemeris to within arc-seconds. Sunrise, tithi, nakshatra and lagna are calculated for your city and minute. The sky on this page is the real sky — real stars, real positions.

2 · The tradition — classical rules

Readings apply rules of the Parashari tradition: Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Phaladeepika and Saravali for houses and yogas, the Vimshottari dasha for timing, gochar counted from the natal Moon, and Ashtakoot for matching. A jyotish scholar reviews our rule books.

3 · What we do not claim

The astronomy is measurable. Whether planets shape human lives is a matter of tradition and belief, not proven science. So we show both layers separately — the reading, and its basis — and let you judge.

From sky to kundali

Scroll — and watch a real chart being drawn, step by step.

  1. The sky at birthAt the moment of birth the nine grahas sit somewhere on the zodiac — a ring of twelve signs around the Earth.
  2. The rising signThe sign rising on the eastern horizon at that minute becomes your lagna. It changes about every two hours — which is why birth time matters.
  3. Twelve housesCounting from the lagna, the twelve signs become twelve houses — self, wealth, siblings, home… each a part of life.
  4. Folded into a diamondThe North Indian chart draws the same twelve houses as a diamond: the lagna always at the top, the numbers naming the signs.
  5. Then time is addedThe Moon's nakshatra at birth starts the Vimshottari dasha clock — the periods you live through. That is your kundali.

Kundali, explained in plain language

What is a kundali (janma kundali)?

A janma kundali, or birth chart, is a map of the sky at the moment and place of your birth: the sign rising in the east (lagna), the twelve houses (bhavas) counted from it, and the positions of the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn and the lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu. Jyotish reads the chart for temperament, life areas and timing. JYOTISH.info casts it from your date, time and place of birth using the Lahiri ayanamsa and the North Indian style.

Lagna, Rashi and Nakshatra — what is the difference?

Lagna is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth; it sets your first house and your outward nature. Rashi, in common usage, is your Moon sign — the sign the Moon occupied — and governs the mind and emotional life; it is also what Indian horoscopes use. Nakshatra is the lunar mansion the Moon was in, one of 27 divisions of the zodiac, each 13°20′ wide and split into four padas; your birth nakshatra decides the starting point of your Vimshottari dasha.

What is Vimshottari dasha?

Vimshottari is the 120-year planetary period system used across Vedic astrology. Each of nine grahas rules a mahadasha of fixed length — Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17 years — subdivided into antardashas and pratyantar dashas. Where you start is set by the Moon's nakshatra at birth. The running period is one of the most-used timing tools in jyotish, which is why this page shows yours first.

Why the Lahiri ayanamsa, and why do apps disagree?

Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, fixed to the stars, while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, fixed to the seasons. The difference between them is the ayanamsa — about 24° today. Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) is the ayanamsa adopted by the Government of India's Calendar Reform Committee in 1955 and used by most Indian software; another app that shows a different degree is almost always using a different ayanamsa, mean versus true Rahu, or a different birth time.

How does numerology fit with jyotish?

Indian numerology (Ank Jyotish) reads the date of birth and the name. Mulank is the birth day reduced to one digit; Bhagyank is the whole date reduced; the name number uses the Chaldean values of its letters; the Lo Shu grid shows which digits the date contains and which are missing. Each number has a ruling graha, so the numbers can be read beside the chart.

About JYOTISH.info

JYOTISH.info is a Vedic astrology service built and run by SellnShip Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Chandigarh. We built it because too many “free kundali” sites run on fear and sales funnels. We wanted the opposite: an honest, modern instrument that shows you your own sky, explains it without jargon, and offers a written report only when you want one.

Jyotish — from jyoti, light — is the classical Indian discipline that reads time through the positions of the Sun, Moon and planets at the moment of birth. We follow the Parashari system: Lahiri ayanamsa, whole-sign bhavas, the Vimshottari dasha and the North Indian chart style used across Punjab, Haryana and north India.

What is free and what is paid. The kundali, the full first reading, the numerology section and the PDF are free — no account, just a WhatsApp number to unlock them. Every verified person also gets one free question a day in Ask JYOTISH, plus two welcome answers. Extra answers (packs from ₹11), JYOTISH Plus (₹49 a month) and written reports — Year Ahead ₹149, Kundali Milan ₹199, one deep question ₹99 — are paid. Prices are shown before you pay, include GST, and every payment gets a GST invoice.

Your data stays yours. The chart is computed for you and shown to you; we keep details only when you tick consent or log in with your WhatsApp number, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. See the Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked

How accurate is the kundali?

Planetary positions are computed with an astronomical engine checked against the Swiss Ephemeris (the professional standard) — usually within a few arc-seconds and at worst about 20 — with the Lahiri ayanamsa. Any difference you see against another app is almost always the ayanamsa setting, the birth time, or mean versus true Rahu — all three can be adjusted above.

I don't know my birth time. Can I still use this?

Yes. Tick "I don't know my exact birth time" and we cast a Chandra kundali for noon. Your numbers do not depend on the time. The Moon moves about 13° a day, so your rashi and nakshatra are usually right, but can be the neighbouring one if the Moon changed sign or nakshatra that day — and your dasha start moves with it. The lagna and bhavas are marked approximate. If you can find the time (a hospital record, for example), cast again with it.

Is my reading written by a person?

No. The free reading on this page is built by rules from your own chart — the placement of each house lord, the dignity of each graha, your running dasha, your numbers. Ask JYOTISH answers and the paid reports are written by an AI model from your calculated chart and our classical rule book, and checked against your chart before you see them. A jyotishi reads a report only if you add "reviewed by a jyotishi" — then they read and sign it before it reaches you.

Do I need to give my gender?

No. It is optional and only changes the marriage reading, where the spouse karaka differs (Shukra for men, Guru for women).

What happens when I tap WhatsApp or ask for the PDF?

WhatsApp opens with a prefilled message containing your birth details, your lagna, rashi and dasha, your question and a link that re-creates your chart; nothing is sent until you tap send. The full kundali, reading and PDF open once you give a WhatsApp number — we verify it with a one-time code and keep your details only with your consent (see Privacy). Your kundali link is shown on the page to save or share.

Do you guarantee outcomes or predict exact dates?

No one can. Astrology indicates tendencies and timing windows; it does not override your decisions, medical advice or professional judgement. Our readings say what the chart shows and how strongly; the rest is yours.

Which chart style do you use?

North Indian (diamond) style with whole-sign bhavas, the convention in north India. The underlying positions are the same as any style; only the drawing differs.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in these cases. Unused answers from a pack: write to us within 7 days of buying and we refund them. A report we do not deliver within 24 hours (48 hours if you added “reviewed by a jyotishi”), or a question we decline: refunded in full. A report that has been delivered is personal work and is not refundable — but if we used the wrong chart, that is our error and we write it again free. JYOTISH Plus: cancel any time; the period you paid for stays active, and part periods are not refunded. Refunds go back to the original payment method in 5–7 working days. The full terms are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy below.

Is Ask JYOTISH a real astrologer?

No — and we say so plainly. Ask JYOTISH is an AI writer. It works only from your calculated chart (sidereal, Lahiri ayanamsa) and a classical rule book that a jyotish scholar reviews. Every answer is checked against your chart before you see it, and its basis — the positions and the rule — is printed under the answer. If a check fails, the answer is rewritten or replaced by the rule-based writer.

What is a Prashna?

A Prashna (horary) chart is cast for the moment and place you ask a sincere question. We judge it by the Tajika rules of Neelakantha’s Prashna Tantra and the Prashna Marga: whether the lord of the lagna meets the lord of your matter, the Moon, and the kendras. One question per matter per day — the first answer stands. It works without birth details; with your kundali we also compare it with your birth chart.

How much does Ask JYOTISH cost?

Everyone with a verified WhatsApp number gets one free question a day, for ever, plus 2 welcome answers when they join. To ask more the same day: ₹11 for 2 answers, ₹21 for 5 answers or ₹51 for 15 answers — bought answers never expire. JYOTISH Plus is ₹49 a month or ₹499 a year for up to 5 answers a day (2 of them Prashna); the yearly plan includes a Year Ahead report. Written reports are priced separately, in the Reports section. All prices include GST, and every payment gets a GST invoice.

How do I cancel JYOTISH Plus?

Open Ask JYOTISH → your account → Cancel Plus. It is one tap; Plus stays active till the end of the period you paid for and nothing more is charged. You can also stop the UPI AutoPay mandate from your UPI app. We remind you on WhatsApp before every renewal.

What happens to my questions?

Your questions and answers are kept for 90 days so that you can see them again and we can check quality, then deleted. To write an answer, the question and your chart facts are sent to our AI provider; we do not sell them or use them to train AI models. You can delete your account at any time.
