Prashna · the chart of the moment
Prashna: when there is one question on your mind
A Prashna chart is cast for the moment and place you ask, and judged by the Tajika rules of Neelakantha’s Prashna Tantra. It works even if you do not know your birth time. You ask one clear question and get a four-step verdict, the reading, the timing, what helps and the basis.

What it is
Prashna means “question”. The classical idea is that a question asked sincerely has a chart of its own: the sky at the moment and place of asking. The texts judge it by whether the lord of the lagna, which stands for you, meets the lord of the house of your matter, and by the Moon’s part in the link. The method is old and its rules are written down, so each step can be checked.
How it works
- Choose your city and a topic, and write one clear question, such as “Will I get this job?”. No birth details are needed.
- The engine casts the chart for that moment and place on the Lahiri sidereal zodiac. It finds the lagna and its lord, the house and lord of your matter, the Tajika link between them and its orb, the Moon and the kendras, and, if you have a kundali in the app, whether it agrees with your birth chart.
- A four-step meter shows the verdict: Not yet, Mixed, Favourable or Clearly yes. Under it are a small chart, the reading, the timing, what helps and the basis lines, with the rules cited from Neelakantha’s Prashna Tantra and the Prashna Marga.
- There is one answer per matter per day: asking the same matter again shows the first answer, free.
What it costs
- One Prashna
- Uses one answer, the same as a question in Ask JYOTISH. Packs are ₹11 for 2 answers, ₹21 for 5 and ₹51 for 15.
- JYOTISH Plus
- ₹49 a month or ₹499 a year, with 2 Prashna a day.
- Tax
- Prices include 18% GST, and every payment gets a GST invoice.
What it never does
A Prashna is a judgement of one moment, not a promise. It will never:
- predict accidents, serious illness, divorce or how long anyone will live
- tell the sex of an unborn child
- give medical, legal or investment instructions
- sell gemstones, pujas, yantras or remedies
- help control or harm another person

Questions people ask
Do I need my birth time?
No. A Prashna needs no birth details, only the moment and place you ask, which is why it suits someone who does not know their birth time. If you have a kundali in the app, the answer also checks whether it agrees with your birth chart.
Can I ask the same question again?
There is one answer per matter per day. Asking the same matter again shows the first answer, free. A different matter is a new Prashna.
Which rules does it follow?
The Tajika rules of Neelakantha’s Prashna Tantra, with the Prashna Marga, and the basis lines name the rule used: the lagna and its lord, the matter’s house and lord, the link between them and its orb, and the Moon.
What does the four-step verdict mean?
Not yet and Mixed say the chart of the moment does not yet support the matter, or supports it only in part; Favourable and Clearly yes say it does. It is a reading of the moment, and the timing line says when the picture changes.
