JAYATHEERTHA ACHARYA
Jayatheertha Acharya is a hereditary brahmin (clergyman), his entire dynasty has been serving the Lord in the temple for centuries. His grandfather and father’s brother are the first teachers of astrology for him, whose serving he continues nowadays. He devoted more than 20 years of his life for the practice and study of astrology from several astrological Gurus.
The main purpose of his life is to serve to his Gurus and God. Jayatheertha Acharya serves as a manager for the Sri Raghavendra Swami Math temple in the city of Udupi, South India. He is engaged in the maintenance and reconstruction of the temple, feeding people free food, taking care of cows, conducting yajnas and astrological consultations, including using predictions on ancient kauri shells (Horary Prashna-shastra).
Prashna - an astrological prediction for the next year or two, answers specific urgent questions in the nearer future, sometimes even more suitable for making a decision “right now”. Moreover, data on the birth of a person are not required.
Prashna-sastra is one of the oldest directions in astrology (Horary astrology), which has preserved its eventual orientation to this day. It is based on the principle of predetermined fate and makes it possible to unequivocally answer a particular question. Therefore, it can say what should be done in the near future, and what should not be done. You see an example of the Prashna-chart on the photo.
The temple of Sri Raghavendra Swami also provides yajnas, including individual ones. What is yajna and what is it for?
A yajna is an offerings to God on our behalf. It can have a different form, our spiritual practice, for example, is also a type of yajna.
Сarrying a yajna can also have different purposes, for example, we can turn to God with a request to know Him or to fulfill our desires. And also, this offering is carried out by clergymen instead of us, by brahmins. They chant prayers and offer different gifts to the Lord on our behalf. Yajna is also a form of spiritual practice.
